HearAid uses Rich Text Format (RTF) documents as templates in mail-merges and in the Calendar appointment editor. Users can edit RTF documents in word processors such as Microsoft Word and WordPad, or use HearAid's own word processor
The Toolbar:

The toolbar includes three sub-menus
|
The Edit menu provides the usual word processing editing items |
|
The Format menu functions are •Page Setup is used to set page size, orientation and margins •Printer Settings •Bullets & Numbers formatting •Zoom In, Zoom Out, Fit to Page Height and Fit to Page Width control how the editor is displayed in the work-area •Default Page Layout cancels any changes made to the page layout (margins, etc) •Default Font will reset the font back to the Default Rich Text Font set in Tools|Options|General •Layout Mode sets how the page appears on-screen •Auto Zoom will automatically zoom the page view so that the entire page fits within the panel; this may result in very small screen display font size! •Word Wrap controls whether the text wraps so that it is all visible, otherwise you may need to use the horizontal scroll bar to view obscured text
Experiment with the Layout Mode, Auto Zoom and Word Wrap settings to provide optimal viewing of the text |
|
The Table menus allows the creation of tables in the document and the display of table and cell borders |
•Click Load to load a RTF file into the editor. HearAid stores RTF documents in ..\HearSoft\HearAid\Reports\Forms and ..\HearSoft\HearAid\Reports\Mail-Merge
•Click Save to save the document to a RTF file
•Click New to clear the editor for a new document
•Use the Text Attribute buttons to change font, etc in the text
•You can use the Spell Checker and Thesaurus if needed
The Work Area:

•When editing HearAid standard documents it is strongly recommended that you avoid modifying any merge fields, indicated by tag pairs (such as <dbtext displayformat='d mmmm, yyyy'>MAINTENANCE_EXPIRES</dbtext>, for example)
